Do I need to have a green card to work in the United States or
can I work on a temporary work visa?

For non-Canadian citizens, a Green Card is usually required to work in the
United States.  Temporary work visas like, H-1B and H-1C are not practical
for use by the vast majority of internationally trained nurses.
Nursing USA
will typically only sponsor internationally trained nurses for Green Card.

Canadian citizens may obtain a temporary work visa under the provisions of
the North American Free Trade Act (NAFTA).
